Nice little piece of work there, Tarun. It actually tempted me enough to add yet another piece of software (SpywareBlaster) to my arsenal.

SpywareBlaster is nice. Non intrusive and doesn't need to run as an active process to protect your computer.

There's several applications that are not open source or free. They're free to try but not if you want the full version. The downloader also asks for donations which is completely pathetic since he's trying to make money off of several open source packages. If you want a safe method of getting security applications go directly to the source, don't use a downloader, you don't know what else it gives you. With the rise in people's accounts being stolen from Guild Wars Guru it wouldn't surprise me if this is involved.

A)Tarun is pretty legit and well known here. No need to go around bashing his reputation, especially since you've only been registered here for all of 20 minutes.
B)Donations are donations, its not a price tag.
C)His site also offers the individual links to download those applications, without the downloader. Its just easier for the less computer savvy folks.
D)No one is getting their accounts stolen off of Guru. That they stop here to ask for help or gripe about it, is not a surprise, given the size of this community. In fact, I actually haven't seen such a thread pop up in some time.

None of the applications have any limitations that will hinder your computer from being cleaned.
Sorry you don't like seeing links inside of the application that link to the donation page of my website. I guess you wouldn't like Dial-a-fix either, since it has a link to a donation page too! People spend their free time coding many applications and a donation is a nice way of saying thank you to the developer.
I have no need or desire to steal any accounts, nor will I ever. I offer this program freely to help people. Both those who are new to computers, having a hard time doing some of the most basic tasks, to even technicians and others who find this program helpful.
If you have your doubts about this program, get a packet sniffer and a firewall in high security mode. Run this program in a VM and see everything it does. It will download the information for the tree list from my website so that no matter what version someone is using they will have the most up-to-date links and versions for the programs listed. This also allows me to pull a problematic program as soon as possible from the list. Every program comes directly from the source because that is the most trusted place to get the application from.
This program has been the Featured Windows Download on Lifehacker. They wouldn't make it a featured download if there was a problem with it.
Sorry that you don't like my application, maybe you'll change your mind in the future.
Malice Black and Dark Flame,
Thank you both for the support and kind words.

Even if they use hosts blocking, they can't easily block IP addresses.

I tried it out and wow, just their EULA alone is more than enough to say "keep away". And it appears you have to pay just to use the service to "repair". It also said my test machine had malware, which was untrue and a false positive.

Tarun, I've been "downloading" this Anti-Malware Toolkit for 2+ hours now. What's the deal?! It's seems stuck on this AntiVir one.

It could be a problem with the server that AntiVir comes from. I know Spybot S&D's servers are often VERY slow too. I'll check into it and see if there's a faster mirror.
Edit: Yeah, Avira took about 30 seconds before it started. It got stuck at 12% for me. So it's a problem with their server. I'm checking all the links right now.
